Century of Flight : Wings Over Canada February 2004

Summary: In December the world marked the 100th anniversary of the first powered and controlled flight: Orville Wright's 12-second hop across a North Carolina beach in a flying machine he had built with his brother Wilbur. We look at that flight, and at an unsuccessful attempt to recreate it at the centennial celebrations. We also look at Canada's big contribution to aviation, the people, and planes that turned the dream of flight in this country into a multibillion-dollar reality. We also take a close look at a very special group of flyers: Canada's legendary bush pilots.
